The pandemic made some of us productive. Me and my sister happen to be one of the lockdown students. Our flower of a mother, Tsegereda (her name literally means rose in Amharic), taught us the art of make-a-hoop-through-the-loop. What started as a creative outlet for the boredom caused by the lockdown (and lack of a stable internet connection) blossomed into a small business in a span of two years. The Kaba Bar is a small business based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia that produces crocheted items.
